About Youran

Youran Lee is a performer, choreographer, and dance educator represented by CESD Talent Agency. With a B.S. in Applied Psychology from New York University, Youran combines her passion for dance with her passion for people, striving to create dance spaces that are diverse, inclusive, and rooted in high standards of artistry and excellence.

Youran (pronounced You-ron) is originally from San Diego, California, and is now based in New York City. She has over 20 years of dance experience and a decade of teaching experience. Her movement expertise spans multiple forms, including Hip Hop, Jazz/Contemporary, Street Jazz/Jazz Funk, Waacking, House, and Heels. She is the founder and director of YLDC, her professional dance company, and YLTC, her training company, both of which are rooted in community, artistry, and dancer development. In June 2026, Youran premiered 20-Somethings, her first full-length narrative dance theatre work, with YLDC at the Mark Morris Dance Center in Brooklyn. The production featured YLDC alongside guest performers from YLTC and sold out both performances.

Youran began her career in the community dance team scene, training and performing with competitive teams including Syde FX, iLL Habits, and The Neighbors. During her time with The Neighbors, she became the youngest Artistic Director in the team's history. Under her leadership, the team earned 1st place at World of Dance, 2nd place at Elements, and additional competition placements.

Today, Youran works professionally as a dancer in the NYC dance industry and teaches throughout the city at studios including Broadway Dance Center, Peridance, Modega, PMT, PJM, and X Space. As an educator, she emphasizes the importance of strong fundamentals and foundational Hip Hop knowledge while encouraging her students to challenge themselves, develop their individuality, and push their movement to the next level.

Outside of dance, Youran loves singing (particularly early-2000s R&B classics), crocheting, dabbling in photography and videography, and taking F45 workout classes. She also loves traveling and discovering the best food each city has to offer.

Her professional credits include Octet by Lin-Manuel Miranda (post-production), BTS Love Yourself NYC, Virgin Voyages, LEGO x Nickelodeon, Lincoln Center, Shinsa The Collective, and more.
